Surgery @ Froedtert

Everyone,
I am not as talented as Lynn so you all are going to have to put up with me for a few days.
Lynn had her surgery today. It was an early and anxious start. (I HATE informed consent!)Without boring you with the details, it was a good day. Although her right lung was removed in it's entirety, she came through the procedure well. The surgeon wanted to err on the side of caution and with her pulmonary tests, the team was very comfortable doing that. They essentially found nothing they did not expect, but of course we will await the pathology results. There was a problem with pain management, but they also fixed the right "cocktail" so that she was pain free and resting (sleeping) comfortably. She is breathing on her own without the need for a respirator and her breathing and heart rate are all very good. All good stuff! The staff was outstanding! We are eternally grateful to all (as well as the extra attention we got)!
She recognized me (not s sure that is a good thing) but it was wonderful to see that smile and beautiful blue eyes.
Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. We are positive that is the reason things went as well as they did. BUT, we still have a battle in front of us so although there are others that may need your prayers, please keep us "on your list".
We are blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!
Lynn and Tim

  10. Lynn,
You GO GIRL! You lived up to my expectation, good work yesterday, continue creating your own reality. Keep pressing on, best wishes in your recovery and therapy. I hear the therapy is tough, so you be the best patient you can be knowing the doctors and nurses have helped patients before and aren't out to hurt you!!! Know that Heilbrun's, Dieringer's, Vargas', High's, DaRos', Raidl's and friends are in your corner pulling for you and praying.
    With much love, Bruce

  12. Lynn, Tim, and family,

We are glad to hear the surgery went well, and are praying for a speedy recovery. Lynn, you certainly have the drive to get through this on your own, but it's great to know you have someone like Tim for support. It's a certainty that the overwhelming love you two have for each other, and have shown to many, will get stronger through this trial.

I know that I speak for both of us when I say that you and Tim are great role models for any married couple.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

    With all our prayers,

    Jerod and Michele Spaeth

  13. Tim,

Thank you for the update. Tell Lynn we all love her. She certainly has many people asking about her. The power of prayer certainly is working. She's one tough little cookie!

    Hugs and more hugs,
    Sandi

  14. Princess Kitty Kat -- I am so relieved to read Tim's Blog about your successful surgery yesterday. I thought about you all day yesterday as I was right around the corner from your hospital bed trying to get yet another dose of chemo. How's that for timing......ha! The hard part is over -- now it's just the process of healing, listening to your body and most of all concentrating on being well. Call me if you need anything or better yet if you just want to cry or bitch about anything that is on your mind......I am here for you girlfriend.
